Calcium chloride is a food additive and part of the new wave of "molecular gastronomy" ingredients. Our food-grade Calcium Chloride pellets are used in cooking, in combination with Sodium Alginate, to aid in spherification.In food industry terms, it is used as an alternative to salt as calcium chloride enhances the flavour without increasing the sodium content.
